Trailer Music
SPOTIFY PLAYLIST
Playlist
For my playlist, I have tried to gather a selection of songs from many different genres. For example, 'Shoop' and 'X Gon Give It To Ya' are both taken from Deadpool, which is an action comedy superhero film.
MUSIC IN TRAILERS
- Many songs are suitable for film trailers, be it with lyrics or without.
- Sometimes, a song will be written specifically for that film. Examples of this include:
+ Skyfall - Adele (Skyfall)
+ Happy - Pharrell Williams (Despicable Me 2)
- Similar to the point above, songs might be edited to fit trailers. The tempo/base of the song may be changed. The typical editing of songs in trailers is to lengthen them. Examples of this include:
+ Castle - Halsey (Snow White and the Huntsman: Winter's War, Winter's War version)
- There is almost always a music change in a theatrical trailer, from a slow paced song to a song with a much faster beat that will build towards the end of the trailer.
- Songs used depend on the genre of the film, however they can also be used to trick an audience into believing that the film is one genre when in fact it is a completely different genre.
